Suitability and recovery discussedMore than a surface conversation
We offer Sciton HALO®, which combines ablative and nonablative wavelengths in one fractional treatment. It treats small zones of skin to support renewal at different depths. Your consultation helps determine whether this approach suits your skin. [1]
Explore options for rough texture and the appearance of enlarged pores, with expectations tailored to your skin.
Talk about fine lines and selected acne scars. Resurfacing may soften their appearance; it does not erase every line or scar.
Discuss sun-related discoloration and uneven tone. Start with an assessment of the spots or changes you have noticed.
Treatment depends on your skin and the concern being addressed. Read about suitability and risks.
Two approaches. Different priorities.
Your provider can explain the options and whether either treatment suits your skin.
Your appointment, considered
Your calendar matters, too.
Discuss recovery before you book.
Share your concerns, skin-care routine, medications, previous treatments, and recent sun exposure. Ask what a realistic improvement could look like.
Discuss treatment intensity, comfort measures, the number of sessions, cost, and time away from your usual routine. Decide with a clear picture of the commitment.
Request written preparation and recovery instructions. Know which products to use, when to check in, and whom to contact with concerns.
Recovery is part of renewal
Make room for healing. Your treatment settings and individual response shape the recovery experience.
Warmth, redness, and swelling can occur. Ask your provider how to care for the treated area during the first day.
Skin may develop a bronzed, rough texture before it sheds. Let this process happen naturally and follow your aftercare plan.
Early changes can appear as skin heals, with continued improvement over time. A review helps guide any further treatment.

An informed decision
Discuss your skin tone, recent tanning, cold sores, scarring history, medications, and whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Laser choice and settings require individual assessment.
Possible effects include redness, swelling, discomfort, infection, scarring, and lighter or darker skin pigmentation. Some color changes can persist. Ask about your individual risk and alternatives.
Ask for clear instructions about expected healing, warning signs, and how to reach us if recovery differs from your plan.
Read Mayo Clinic’s laser resurfacing overview and discuss treatment-specific risks with your provider.
HALO is Sciton’s hybrid fractional laser, combining two types of laser energy in a single treatment. Your provider adjusts the approach to the concerns being treated and the recovery you can plan for.
Expect some visible recovery rather than assuming you can return immediately to every activity. Ask for a timeline specific to your settings, including work, makeup, exercise, and important events.
Suitability depends on the laser, settings, and your skin. Darker skin can be more prone to burns and pigment changes. Seek assessment from a clinician experienced with your skin tone; an alternative may be recommended.
Some plans involve one session; others use a series. Discuss your priorities, the level of change you hope for, and when to reassess before committing to a schedule.
Ask us for a quote covering your treatment area, proposed sessions, and any follow-up or aftercare costs. Call 817-379-9397 before booking if you have pricing questions.
Avoid tanning and discuss sun protection before and after treatment. Give your provider a list of medications, supplements, and skin-care products. Follow their instructions about changes to your routine; do not stop prescribed medication on your own.
