We offer Sciton BBL®, a light-based treatment for selected signs of sun damage and visible redness. The settings are chosen around the concern being treated and your skin’s characteristics.
Discuss unwanted freckles and sun-related brown spots. A provider should assess the marks you want treated before recommending a cosmetic procedure.
Ask about redness and visible small blood vessels, including concerns associated with rosacea. Assessment helps identify the cause and the right approach.
Talk about the overall variation in your complexion and which areas bother you. Your plan can focus on selected pigment or redness concerns.
Not every dark spot or type of redness is suitable for BBL. Read about suitability and risks.
Two approaches. Different priorities.
Your provider can explain the options and whether either treatment suits your skin.
Your appointment, considered
A clear plan.
Time for your questions.
Bring your questions, skin-care routine, and treatment history. Talk about recent sun exposure and the changes you would like to see.
Discuss proposed areas, settings, comfort, cost, and possible effects. Protective eyewear is used during treatment as the handpiece delivers pulses of light.
Ask for aftercare instructions and when to assess your response. Agree on how to contact us with any concerns before you leave.

What happens afterward
Plan around your own recovery. A treatment described as low downtime can still cause visible changes.
Temporary redness, warmth, stinging, or swelling may occur. Ask when to resume makeup, exercise, and your usual skin-care routine.
Treated pigment can darken temporarily before fading. Avoid picking at the skin and follow the care plan your provider gives you.
Improvement may become apparent over the following weeks. Review your response before deciding on more sessions or maintenance.

An informed decision
Discuss skin tone, recent tanning, medications, supplements, and skin conditions. Light treatments need careful selection; darker or recently tanned skin may carry greater risks of burns and pigment changes.
Risks can include discomfort, swelling, discoloration, crusting, infection, and scarring. Ask your provider about the risks for your skin and the treatment settings proposed.
Get clear guidance about expected recovery and when to contact us. Avoid tanning and follow the sun-protection plan recommended before and after treatment.

BBL stands for BroadBand Light. It uses intense pulsed light rather than a laser beam. It belongs to the light-treatment family, even when listed within a clinic’s “laser” services.
BBL focuses on selected color concerns using pulsed light. HALO is a fractional resurfacing laser used for tone and texture. Read about HALO, then discuss your priorities and recovery preferences with your provider.
That depends on your skin, concern, and response. Ask whether the proposed plan involves a series, how sessions would be spaced, and when to decide if further treatment is worthwhile.
Some people return quickly to everyday activities, but redness, swelling, and temporary darkening of pigment can be visible. Leave room in your calendar for recovery and ask for guidance before scheduling a special event.
Request a quote for your treatment area and proposed number of sessions, including any follow-up or aftercare costs. Call 817-379-9397 with pricing questions.
Mention recent tanning, previous reactions to light treatments, and all medicines and skin-care products you use. Ask whether any preparation is needed. Do not stop prescribed medication without advice from your prescriber.
