Blac Chyna may have plenty to pout about. However, it’s the famous (infamous?) sister of her on-again, off-again beau, Rob, who many fans claim has perfected the perfect pout. Regardless of your thoughts on the Kardashian clan, one thing is certain: the Kardashian ladies do have luscious lips! You may be shocked and delighted to discover that you need not be a Hollywood A-lister (or reality TV persona) to take advantage of the secret weapon of the lip-plumping trade: Restylane.
What is Restylane?
Restylane is an FDA-approved injectable filler. It’s made of a completely natural substance called hyaluronic acid. When injected into the skin, Restylane adds volume and fullness. Restylane is effective for smoothing moderate facial wrinkles and fine lines, and, for gently adding fullness and definition to the upper and lower lips. (Using Restylane to plum the limps is FDA approved for patients ages 21 and older.)
What to Know Before Getting Restylane to Enhance Your Lips
There are several Restylane formulations; Restylane and Restylane-L are ideal for plumping the lips. What most patients really want to know, though, is “How long will the results last?” The short answer is, “That depends on the individual.”
Typically, though, when you use Restylane for lip enhancement, the results last about 6 months. That’s the best of both worlds. Your investment in your appearance will be long-lasting, but not permanent. If you decide the result is not for you (which is incredibly rare), your lips will slowly return to their pre-treatment pout.
Last but certainly not least, as with any cosmetic procedure, make sure you’re trusting a qualified practitioner for your injection. Only work with a reputable practitioner who knows the right amount of product to apply to achieve the results you want, and how to apply it. Some patients want noticeable plumping, but others want a subtler improvement in volume. Communicate with your aesthetician!
